Today,

I will compose a cone and cylinder by combining two or more different shapes using a net.

Vocabulary

Teacher Resources Considerations: Use the nets provided at the end of this lesson to provide manipulatives for students.

Cone : A solid object that is circular on the bottom and comes to a point at the top with one vertex.

Each student needs two nets of each solid figure.

One for Structured Guided Practice and one for Final Check for Understanding.

A/B partners can take turns during Structured Guided Practice to compose the nets.

Then in Final Check for Understanding,

the students can compose the opposite net.

(This would only require one net per student for each solid figure.)
